About Cade
I’m from Dillingham, Alaska and a Curyung Tribal Member. I’ve been actively involved in our community as a volunteer with the local fire department and EMS, chairman of the City Planning Commission, board member at Nushagak Electric and Telephone Cooperative, small business owner and fuel terminals manager.
I share the values so many in our region hold: subsistence rights, local business opportunity and the rural Alaskan way of life.
Where I stand
Rural Alaska is at a pivotal moment. New technology, higher costs and heavier regulation are making it harder for our communities to thrive, especially those off the road system that depend on air and sea travel for everything shipped in and out. But we are blessed with a subsistence way of life that sustains us every day, and we must protect our resources so they can sustain our children and grandchildren too.
Through renewable energy, local business development and strong rural voices, we can build a thriving, self-sufficient region on our own terms. Time and again, outside interests have tried to extract our resources in ways that threaten our way of life. Southwest Alaska has stood firm and pushed back. I believe we must hold outside interests accountable when they only take and give nothing back to the region.
This isn’t the last frontier. This is our home.
